Junior Mechanic, Elliot, passes HSA apprenticeship with flying colours

⁠Elliot joined the Pursuit Racing team in May 2023. At the time, he was already part way through his apprenticeship with local education provider, Heritage Skills Academy (HSA).

Elliot spent the next two years working as part of the Pursuit team the majority of the time, as well as taking around 9 weeks out per year to study just down the road at Bicester Heritage or HSA’s other site at the Brookland’s Museum.

“Overall, I really enjoyed the course. It’s unique curriculum and has proven to be very beneficial to my work within the world of historic motorsport so far. It’s great to be finished now so I can go forward in my career applying all the skills I’ve gained.”

After his final coursework review and exams in May 2025, Elliot has now passed with flying colours. We’re excited to have him on board full time with all the new skills he’s spent so much time and effort gaining over the last three years.

“Working full time while studying is very beneficial as it allows you to experience what the real world of work is like and learn on the job, while being taught the correct processes in the classroom. The phrase ‘every day is a school day’ is very true within this industry and I have learned so many essential skills while working at Pursuit both through hands-on experience and from my colleagues.”

We’re taking on another Junior Mechanic who is embarking on the HSA apprenticeship from January 2026, and we’re excited to watch them progress over the next few years.
