BMW Z4 GT3 Chassis 1020 is ready for success in 2025

1020 was stripped down to the chassis, with various parts being sent straight out for crack testing, the bodywork heading out to be repainted, and the chassis taken back to bare metal.

Once the freshly painted chassis was back, the real work began! The team set about rebuilding the car with a range of brand new or fully reconditioned parts: new airjacks were fitted, alongside a complete replacement of the heat-shielding. Then brake lines and wiring looms were refitted. The rear suspension and sub-frames were reconditioned and fit back onto the car, which was starting to take shape. A brand-new fuel cell and pumps were sourced and fitted before the reconditioned front suspension, gearbox and diff could be refitted. Finally, the exhaust, front-end and radiator pack, repaired front splitter and newly refinished and painted body panels were refitted.

It was decided that the iconic Spa 24hr livery should be recreated to bring this titan back to its full former glory. Each of the logos and design elements that made up the colourful livery were recreated, printed separately and installed onto the bodywork. The finishing touches were then added in the form of brand-new wheels, seat, and finally the car was fired up in the workshop.

With the classic British winter weather to contend with, we will have to wait until 2025 to get this car out onto the track for its shakedown and we cannot wait!
